Telling a visual narrative about the fall, and rise, of the Pacific Ocean Park, the Ruins to Roses range takes a counter-approach to the 1970 fire and destruction of the pride of Venice Beach, claiming that it was the downfall of the P.O.P that led to its true purpose. Laying dormant in a pile of blackened timber for a number of years, the pier was seen as a graveyard of broken dreams and family memories that inspired a new generation with the apocalyptic desire to skate and surf harder than anyone else.
It is the blackened and burnt timber of the pier that is the inspiration behind this range. The black oak exotic veneer is contrasted with gold print and components that would have once emulated the glamour of the Aragon Ballroom (Cheetah Club) that inevitably lead to the piers destruction.
The Roundtail longboard is a staple in the range due to its great shape, versatility and ease of use for all levels of skaters. The 69mm wheels are perfect for that daily commute or surf-check cruiser with their soft durometer of 83A allowing for a smooth ride on almost all concrete surfaces. The 180mm Reverse kingpin truck sit lower and are more stable than standard trucks and use a 90A Soft Cushion for smooth turning.
