District scooters was started in 2007 by Marcel Oosterveen and a few other riders. District, operating as The Descent project was the first company to branch into the professional production of scootering parts other than the existing manufacturers of "toy" scooters. Producing almost all of their products themselves in their own factory, District's vision was and still is, to produce the best products for the sport. They initially found themselves producing scooters and parts for other brands entering the industry and in 2008, entered into production for their own brand. With total control over production, District aimed to produce high quality, custom made and designed scooters.
The company is now part of the larger FSP Group (Freestyle Scooter Products), District's success as a key player in the industry is largely attributed by striving to continually improve their products through rider feedback and working to improve the sport.
Team riders include Rory Coe, Coedie Donovan, Michael Goumaz, Chris Hart, Brandon James, Tom Mattingly, Helmeri Pirinen, Cameron Ward and Fernando Young.
The District single shim clamps are made from 3061 Aluminum making lightweight and durable. They are used with oversized clamps to fit steel bars and fit all District single clamps.
